Taiheiyo Kouhatsu Group actively engages in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) activities and accordingly strives to help achieve related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the aim of giving rise to a sustainable society (sustainability) and increasing the Group's medium- to long-term corporate value.
1. We seek to expand our business of handling wood pellets, palm kernel shell (PKS), and other such environmentally-sound biomass fuels with the aim of facilitating decarbonization.
2. We will continue supporting proof-of-concept trials that entail blending greenhouse gases (CO₂) and coal ash to achieve mineralization for re-use as filler to restore former coal mining sites.
3. We will recycle building waste materials, etc., which are classified as industrial waste, and aim to produce and sell bedding for the dairy industry for which there is tight supply.
4. We will advance the businesses producing fuel created from plant-based biomass and agricultural production materials (feed/bedding), with the aim of building a sustainable and circular bio society.
5. We will utilize the J-Credit System under which the Japanese government certifies reduction volume of CO₂, etc. and absorption volume of CO₂, etc. through appropriate forest management.
